| The organ of the protestant-Lutheran garrison's church at the fortress of Königstein was inaugurated on the 12th of June 2000. The preparations for this event went on since the eighties. This organ follows from the teamwork of the castle's company, the public structural and civil engineering office and the Office for preservation and maintenance of monuments. On the one hand the organ stands out against the historical nave and on the other hand they merge harmonious. The structure on the second gallery is consisting of three parts due to the original shape of the destroyed historical organ. In the centre are the console and the both manual actions, which are placed on a double - wind chest. On the left and the right are the both pedal towers. Apart from using the organ for services and celebrations like weddings and christenings, it can also be used for concerts, especially for chamber music. Each Sunday at 3:00 p.m there are concerts at the garrison's church. |
